A fresh coat of paint brightens any room, and this summer, Holy Name Catholic School (HNCS) is refreshing its learning environment with donated paint. Holy Name was selected as the winner of a paint grant through T & T True Value Hardware’s partnership with True Value Foundation’s Painting a Brighter Future program.
A True Value Foundation paint grant helps improve a school’s learning environment and can have an impact on student attitudes and academic performance.
Partnering with True Value Foundation, Kelly O’Connell, owner of T & T True Value Hardware, nominated Holy Name for a 30 gallon paint grant to help refresh the school’s learning spaces. T & T True Value delivered the paint to the school this past July.
The school used the paint for the annual drive project, which included painting the school’s multi-purpose room and giving it a much-needed makeover. Along with new paint, the renovations included a new extended stage area for the school’s plays, new flooring, new ceiling tiles, lighting, air conditioning, new wood trim wrapping the structural poles to the stone work behind the Crucifix, new water fountain, new sound system, and stage lighting.
“Through True Value Foundation’s Painting a Brighter Future program, we’re able to help Holy Name Catholic School and give back to the community we love to serve,” said O’Connell. “The donation will not only save the school money, but more importantly, will create an environment that fosters learning, inspires creativity, and instills community pride.”
Holy Name Catholic School Principal Joseph Carlson is thankful for T & T True Value for its generosity in providing the paint for the multi-purpose room renovation project. “We are grateful for the support of T & T True Value in paying for the paint for our multi-purpose room renovation,” he said, “We feel this paint will really spruce up the school, and we’re excited for our students and their families to see the new multi-purpose room at the start of this school year.”
The school will hold a Grand Opening Celebration of the new multi-purpose room on Thursday, Sept. 13 after the 9:10 a.m. Grandparent’s Day Mass.
