UP Health System — Marquette is pleased to welcome Radiation Oncologist Jose Pino-y-Torres, MD, to its radiation/oncology staff.
Dr. Pino-y-Torres brings a wealth of experience after having worked in the oncology field since 1972. After a work trip to UPHS — Marquette last year, he was set on joining the hospital’s staff after coming away impressed with the continuity of the radiation/oncology department.
“I love the staff here,” he said. “We’re in constant contact with the patients, so you need to be a people person. That’s what basically makes the team here. I told them that if they’re ever looking for somebody, I’ll move here anytime. That’s why I’m here.”
Dr. Pino-y-Torres comes to UPHS — Marquette after working as a Radiation Oncologist at the Morey Cancer Center. Before his year there, he spent 12 years as the Medical Director & Radiation Oncologist at Upper Delaware Valley Cancer Center.

He completed medical school at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and did his internship at Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program. From there, he finished his residency at the University of Minnesota, Affiliated Hospitals and did fellowships at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
