Governor-elect Gretchen Whitmer is breaking from the tradition of holding inaugural celebrations in Lansing. She has announced her celebration will be in Detroit at Cobo Hall from 7 to 10 p.m. on January 1 following her swearing in earlier in the day at the state Capitol. Tickets for the party will be 150-dollars per person. Three other celebrations will also be held in Flint, Grand Rapids and Marquette on January 12, January 26, and February 16.
