The state of Michigan’s Surplus Store will be open for one day only on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The Surplus Store has a vast inventory of surplus items from property seized by police, voluntarily surrendered at airports, surplus property from local public colleges and property that is no longer needed by government agencies.
Items available through the store include computers, phones, cameras, computer accessories, various knives, wine keys, sporting goods, musical equipment, tools, automotive equipment, desks, file cabinets, chairs, book shelves, jewelry and other fashion accessories.
The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) is responsible for collecting these items and making them available for purchase through the surplus store, which normally operate only online. Access is also provided to the federal surplus program for government agencies and non-profit organizations.
A web site for the latest surplus information can be found at michigan.gov/surplus.
The MiBid online auction site is available to browse and bid 24 hours a day.
