On Tuesday, December 4, the Marquette Police Department arrested 26-year-old Negaunee resident Emily Margaret Barker on a seven count warrant out of the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.
The charges are for one count of Larceny in a Building, four counts of Obtaining Controlled Substance by Fraud and two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance.
Police tell Local Three News that the charges stem from an investigation where missing medication had been reported by UPHS Marquette. A warrant for Barker was issued after an investigation by the Marquette Police Department. Barker allegedly had stolen medication while she was employed at the hospital.
Barker was lodged at the Marquette County Jail pending arraignment, with a bond of $700,000.
