A 21-year-old Ishpeming man has died after a two-vehicle accident on M-95 Saturday night.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post say officers responded to the crash on December 2 around 7:46 p.m. The crash happened on M-95 near the Marquette County line in Sagola Township.
Officers determined that a vehicle driven by a 66-year-old Channing man was traveling southbound when he lost control, crossed the center line and collided with a northbound vehicle. The northbound vehicle was driven by a 21-year-old man from Ishpeming, who also had a 21-year-old woman from Republic in the passenger seat.
Both occupants of the northbound vehicle were taken by ambulance to Marquette General Hospital. The 21-year-old man died. The accident remains under investigation, and once completed will be forwarded to the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was taken by ambulance to the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
Alcohol and weather conditions are believed to be factors in the crash. All people involved were wearing seatbelts.
