Two boat launches on the Menominee River are scheduled to temporarily close this weekend. Boom Landing in Marinette and the Mystery Ship in Menominee will shut down for the launch of Marinette Marine’s latest litoral combat ship. The launches will be closed from five Friday afternoon until about five on Saturday afternoon for what the Marinette County Emergency Management Department calls “safety and security” purposes. Also, all watercraft will be barred during that time from a safety zone on the river established by the Coast Guard.
