If you like to play in the snow, there’s no better place to visit this winter than Michigan’s scenic western Upper Peninsula.
Now, two local tourism organizations are teaming up to encourage visitors to explore the welcoming communities and abundant natural beauty that can be found in Ontonagon and Gogebic counties.
The Porcupine Mountains Convention & Visitors Bureau (PMCVB) and the Ironwood Tourism Council this week launched the Western U.P. Winter Giveaway, which runs through Feb. 1 and encourages visitors to discover the area’s numerous winter recreation opportunities, cozy lodging properties and tasty restaurants and breweries.
To enter, fans can visit the PMCVB website, www.porcupinemountains.com, or the Ironwood Tourism Council website, www.cityofironwood.org.
At the end of the promotion period, two prize packages will be awarded:
- A $200 lodging credit toward a two-night or longer stay at a Porcupine Mountains/Ontonagon County lodging property, a state of Michigan recreation passport and $50 to Olde Suffolk Ale Houseand
- A $200 lodging credit towards at stay at an Ironwood Tourism Council lodging property, three tickets to Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort, and $20 to Cold Iron Brewing
