The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), and the Upper Peninsula Construction Council have teamed up to provide an informational update on workplace safety and health standards for Michigan workers, new reporting rules, goals and emphasis areas, and best practices. Lawrence Hidalgo, Director of MIOSHA’s Construction Safety and Health Division will be the featured speaker.
This event is open to all Michigan employers and employees and is offered at no charge. Coffee and networking start at 9:00 a.m. where there will be an opportunity to informally meet with MIOSHA staff.

Collaboration is an essential part of improving workplace safety and health. “Connecting MIOSHA to Industry” is a multi-year project to enhance customer service and program effectiveness. In line with LARA’s “customer driven, business minded” philosophy, the initiative focuses on increased communication, coordination and outreach. Whether conducted by consultation or enforcement staff, the goal is to ensure that MIOSHA interventions result in improved safety and health for Michigan workers.
MIOSHA partners with organizations throughout the state to offer “Coffee with MIOSHA” periodically throughout the year at various venues and is offered at no charge to employers or workers.
