Shopko may be filing for bankruptcy. According to the Associated Press, Drug Supplier McKesson Corp supplied Shopko with $67 million in drugs, but has not been paid since early December. McKesson attorney Jeff Garfinkle says he expects Shopko to file for bankruptcy protection on Jan. 15. McKesson asked the court to restrain Shopko from selling the medications, but that request was denied by Judge William Atkinson. Shopko Attorney Stephen Hackney says a restraining order would require the company to close its pharmacies, and ultimately harm patients who need the medication.
