Project Give received $600 from the Women’s Giving Circle Fund held at the M&M Area Community Foundation. These funds will support the nonprofit organization’s upcoming ‘In the Bag’ project.
The goal of this project is to pack 100 tote bags with essential hygiene supplies, feminine products and inspiration gifts for distribution to local teenage girls who could use a little extra love. In 2016 Project Give completed a similar project with bags being donated to the Rainbow House Domestic Abuse Shelter.
Formed back in 2014, Project Give is a registered nonprofit serving Menominee and Marinette Counties. It’s mission is to be the bridge between those that want to help and those that need help.
“Our work is driven by the passionate belief that there is always more to give,” stated Shelby Beck, founder of Project Give. “What better way to give back and show young girls we care than by giving them beautiful bags of self-care items.”
Beck expressed gratitude to the M&M Area Community Foundation and the Women’s Giving Circle. “Without the incredible support of these organizations, Project Give wouldn’t be able to fulfill our mission. The Women’s Giving Circle works hard to make a big impact on women and girls in our community and we are honored to have received such a generous grant to help make the impact event bigger.”
Project Give is looking for volunteers to help fill the bags in February. Please visit their Facebook page or e-mail projectgive906@gmail.com to get involved.
