Marquette Board of Light and Power (MBLP) Distribution Line Crews have been working hard in challenging conditions to restore power to all of our customers. Ice covered trees that are now getting a dusting of snow will remain problematic and can cause further power outages throughout the evening hours. Temperatures are forecasted to continue to drop tonight and winds may pick up, which may cause additional outages. Outages may reoccur as trees continue to come down due to the heavy ice and snow.
As of 4 p.m., there are between 2,000 and 3,000 MBLP customers without power.
Although we are working hard to restore electric service to our customers, some areas may remain without power through the night.
Please call the MBLP Emergency Response Telephone Number at 228-0300 to report that your power is out. Please do not assume that the MBLP knows that your power is out. In addition, please do not assume that a neighbor has called in to report an outage in your neighborhood. When you call our Emergency Response Phone Number, you will be talking to Distribution Personnel who are fielding the calls in person. Due to the high volume of calls, if you do not get through please call again. Besides reporting an outage if you see a tree on a power line, please call in its location to help prevent more outages.
