The Alger County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house explosion Friday around 1 p.m. on Old Indiantown Road in Munising Twp.
The Alger County Sheriff’s Office, Alger County EMS, Munising Twp. Fire Department and the City of Munising Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the structure had totally disintegrated.
Emergency Responders located a woman underneath debris. She was conscious and alert.
The woman had been quickly extricated from the scene and placed into the care of Alger County EMS.
She was then transported to UP Health System in Marquette.
The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time.
The incident is being investigated by the Alger County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police Fire Marshal.
