Operation Action U.P. will be holding their Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 14. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. Eastern (registration & networking) on the campus of Northern Michigan University (1401 Presque Isle Ave, Marquette, MI) at the Don H. Bottum University Center Great Lakes Rooms. The OAUP Annual Meeting is open to anyone who has an interest in the program.
To start the day, attendees will hear from Brian Calley and Tom Casperson. Brian Calley will share his experience as the recent Lt. Governor and his vision for the Small Business Association of Michigan. Tom Casperson will share his perspective reflecting on his service in the legislature.
The four Upper Peninsula businesses who will receive OAUP’s 2018 Awards of Excellence are L.E. Jones Company, Lake Shore Systems, Inc., Karl’s Cuisine, and Keweenaw Brewing Company. The award recipients will provide an overview of their business, noting their remarkable successes.
At this year’s OAUP Annual Meeting attendees will hear a presentation on “Tax Cuts Work” from Howard Hall, Director at Hammond Institute Free Enterprise & Professor of Economics at the Plaster School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
Jason Geer from the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Maggie Sheely from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Sarah Hubbard from Acuitas will have a panel discussion on “Why Policy Matters”.
