Rep. Beau LaFave, of Iron Mountain, recently launched the Outstanding Educator Award program.
Students, parents, and school faculty of the 108th district in the Upper Peninsula are encouraged to nominate local educators who have made a meaningful impact on their community. LaFave will select one educator from each county he represents (Delta, Dickinson, and Menominee). Nominations for the 2018-2019 school year will be accepted through April 30 and award winners will be announced on May 10.
“Growing up, there were numerous teachers who made a lasting impression on myself and my class,” LaFave said. “Our schools are filled with dozens of incredible educators that do so much for our children and communities. This program is a way of showing appreciation to those who dedicate their lives to teaching our young people and letting them know that their hard work does not go unrecognized.”
Nominations can be submitted by following the “Outstanding Educator Award” tab at the top of the page at RepLaFave.com.
