More information now on the discovery of a dismembered body in the Menominee River.
Authorities gave a press conference in Menominee on Wednesday, and said that it was two boys walking a dog along the river that first noticed the body Saturday morning, which was later identified as Tamara La Framboise of Yangton, South Dakota. Her head, feet, and hands were missing and still have not been found, according to Assistant Menominee County Prosecutor Jeffery Rogg.
“There is a human aspect to this case, too,” Rogge said. “Miss LaFramboise was the daughter of a woman, her mother, who still lives in New Mexico. She was the mother of two young adult children. If you’re a praying person, I would urge you to consider keeping their family in mind during the next difficult days, weeks, and months to come.”
Authorities in South Dakota have arrested 45-year-old Stephen Falkenberg of Menominee on second degree murder charges. He was apparently dating LaFramboise, who was identified by the tattoos on her body. An exam of her remains has been conducted in Fond duLac, Wis., and the results are pending.
Menominee County Sheriff Kenny Marks praised the cooperation of Marinette, Wis., authorities, as well as those in South Dakota. He says that a missing persons report from South Dakota to identifying the remains after the body was found.
