State Sen. Ed McBroom, who chairs the Senate Oversight and Natural Resources committees, is inviting Upper Peninsula residents to testify before both committees via remote teleconference next Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10.
McBroom, R-Vulcan, said the Oversight Committee will meet at 2 p.m. EDT on April 9 to discuss his Equal Access to Justice legislation, which would hold most state departments or agencies that lose in court financially accountable for the prevailing party’s legal costs unless it could make a compelling case to the court proving its position was substantially justifiable.
The Natural Resources Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. EDT on April 10 to consider testimony on Senate Bill 37, which would reverse the Natural Resources Commission ban on baiting and feeding deer. The committee will also entertain feedback from residents on baiting and feeding in the U.P.
