Escanaba City staff will be holding an informative meeting on April 25th at 6:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers.
This will be one hour prior to the scheduled Regular City Council meeting. City Manager Patrick Jordan and Water/Wastewater Superintendent Jeff Lampi will discuss the
upcoming proposed utility rate increases.T he public is invited and encouraged to attend so they can learn more about the proposed increases and will be able to ask questions from the staff.
The city announced last week that water and wastewater rates will be going up by 22 and 45 percent on July 1st. The city blames state mandates for pipe replacements in the wake of the Flint Water Crisis, and aging infrastructure at the water treatment plant, for the steep increases.
