The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $2.4 million to resurface 12 miles of M-123 from north of H-40 to M-28 in Chippewa County.
The work includes shoulder reconstruction, upgrading concrete sidewalk ramps to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and pavement markings. The project is covered by a three-year pavement warranty.

The work will require intermittent lane closures. One alternating lane will be open via traffic regulators. A 10-foot lane width restriction will be in effect for this project.
This project will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway. ADA-compliant ramps make sidewalks safer for all users.
The project is expected to wrap up June 15th.
