The American Red Cross of Michigan has a new Regional Chief Executive Officer. Mary Lynn Foster, former Regional Chief Executive Officer for the organization’s Ohio Buckeye Region, will now lead all Michigan Red Cross Humanitarian Services programs.
Foster comes to her new role with more than twenty-five years of management and leadership experience in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors, directing Red Cross programs in several major communities across Ohio since 2016. Born and raised in Michigan, she is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where she earned a degree in accounting.
Immediately prior to the Red Cross, Foster served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Children’s Hunger Alliance in Ohio and began her career in the for-profit sector as a CPA, working in a variety of financial positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Safelite Auto Glass Corporation and the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company.
Foster brings with her a wide scope of business acumen and possesses extensive experience in developing teams to align them around a strategic vision. She is a recipient of “The Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service” for her work in Ohio and also has been recognized by Smart Business Magazine, receiving the publication’s “SMART 50 Award” that honors top executives at leading regional companies for their ability to effectively build and lead successful organizations.
Outside of the workplace, Foster is an active community leader, serving in leadership roles for other non-profit boards and committees, including most recently the United Way of Central Ohio and is Immediate Past-President of the Ohio Chapter of the International Women’s Forum.
