The Greater Marinette-Menominee YMCA received a $2010.00 Grant from the Youth Advisory Committee Fund held at the M&M Area Community Foundation.
These funds will support building a rock wall, Swiss ladder, climbing rope, monkey bars, finger walls and grab bars in our gymnastics center. We want to expand our apparatus resources in our gymnastics center, adding in physical conditioning stations that are fun and versatile for everyone to use, no matter what class or age, reaching those 2 years to 18+. With these new obstacles, we will be able to hold the interest of our growing children and keep our programs growing with new and already faithful participants. “It is always a little sad when the children participating in our ninja classes age out of our current obstacles.
We are so grateful to be able to keep them coming back until their pre-teen years now with this new equipment we will be building.” Brigitte Schmidt said, Gymnastics Coordinator and Gliders Team Head Coach.
Our project will start in August and be finished by fall. We will be asking parents, staff and potentially asking community members to help with the labor portion of this project.
