Travis Brent Howell, 27, of Gladstone was sentenced to 9 month in the Delta County Jail. Howell previously entered a plea to Interfering with Electronic Communications (maximum punishment of 2 years) and Domestic Violence 2nd Offense (maximum punishment of 1 year).
On March 5, 2019, officers from Gladstone Public Safety Departmentresponded to the report of a domestic violence in the city of Gladstone. Officers responded and made contact with a female victim and her young son. The victim detailed that Howell was arguing with the her when he began choking her. Howell pulled her phone away from her and smashed it on the floor when the victim attempted to call 911. Howell pulled the victim from the chair, grabbed her by her hair and dragged her around the residence.
Gladstone Public Safety was assisted by Michigan State Troopers from the Gladstone Post.
