The St. Agnes, St. Augustine, St. Mary Conference of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is honored and pleased to continue its partnership with the M&M Area Community Foundation via a $1,000 grant from the Women’s Giving Circle Fund held at the Foundation.
Our St. Vincent de Paul conference helps the needy and suffering regardless of gender or religious affiliation. But about 30% of the financial help provided is to women only or single mother households. So our Women in Need project assists these women with housing and utilities so that they can stay in their homes when faced with the possibility of eviction, homelessness or utility disconnection. The financial support from the Women’s Giving Circle allows us to continue this important ministry to a vulnerable segment of society.
As Vincentians, we grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering. We utilize home-visits to perform our ministry. These visits provide an opportunity to listen, understand, comfort, discuss available resources, and chart a path to help move out from poverty.
This is a small but necessary step to give these women hope for a brighter future. And it aligns well with the motto of the Women’s Giving Circle “Empowering the women of today to create a better tomorrow.”
We are extremely grateful to the M&M Area Community Foundation and its Women’s Giving Circle Fund for addressing issues of interest to women and providing support via this grant. And we thank all who make the M&M Area Community Foundation and the Women’s Giving Circle viable.
The Women in Need project is an ongoing project of this SVDP conference and serves women in the Amberg, Crivitz, Wausaukee, and nearby areas. Anyone in need of this ministry or who would like to join this St. Vincent de Paul conference should call 715 856 6020.
