Break out the Lederhosen and hoist that stein of beer, it’s time to celebrate the accomplishments of the community at the Delta Chamber’s “Oktoberfest” themed Annual Dinner.
Members of the Delta County Chamber of Commerce will meet on Thursday, Oct. 10 at the Island Resort and Casino for the Chamber’s Annual Dinner. The event starts at 5:30 with a social hour followed by dinner and the awards program at 6:30.
“This is our opportunity to celebrate Delta County,” said Vickie Micheau, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a great way for us to get everyone together and show how much we appreciate the incredible amount of work and dedication that our members put forth to make Delta County a great place to live, work and visit.”
A graduation ceremony will be held for members of the Delta Force leadership development program. This is the 18th year for the program. Delta Force exposes students to different aspects of the community each month such as law enforcement, education, government and media communications. As with any graduation, a member of the Delta Force class will provide a commencement speech to talk about this year’s achievements.
“As we watch 18 years of students that have graduated through Delta Force and the positions that they have assumed in this community, we realize that it has been good for Delta County and is a very rewarding experience for all of the sponsors and facilitators involved in the program,” Micheau said.
Area businesses and community members will also be recognized during an awards program.
Micheau said the awards program is a highlight of the Annual Dinner. “The Chamber is honored to give recognition to those that make Delta County special. This is our opportunity to give businesses and individuals in our community the credit they richly deserve,” she said.
“The Annual Dinner gives us a chance to not only look back on the great accomplishments of this community but then to also look forward to upcoming events and activities planned for 2020,” said Ed Legault, Chamber Board Chairman and Executive Director of the Escanaba DDA.
Tickets for the Delta Chamber Annual Dinner are available online at deltami.org or at the Commerce Center at 1001 North Lincoln Road in Escanaba. The event is co-sponsored by UPWard Talent Council/Michigan Works!, OSF St. Francis Hospital and Medical Group and the Island Resort & Casino.
The mission of the Chamber is to promote economic and community development in Delta County.
