Kenneth John Lauscher, 48, of Escanaba was sentenced to 18 months to 20 years in prison.
Lauscher was sentenced following the entry of a guilty plea to Delivery/Manufacture Methamphetamine.
On July 19, 2018, officers from Escanaba Department of Public Safety responded to the report of a drug overdose in the city of Escanaba.
During the course of their investigation into the overdose, information was obtained that indicated that Lauscher, Krystal White, and Travis Halase were involved in a methamphetamine transaction that occurred on July 18, 2018.
Further investigation,led detectives to locate Walmart surveillance video from the Walmart Escanaba and Walmart in Marquette, MI. In review of the videos, detectives determined that Lauscher and White traveled to the Walmart in Escanaba and sent approximately $182.00 through a “money gram” to Halase, who picked it up in the Walmart in Marquette. In interviewing Lauscher and White, both admitted that the money was intended to purchase methamphetamine. White admitted that she received some of the methamphetamine on July 18, 2018. Halase was arrested on July 19, 2018, with several baggies of methamphetamine in his vehicle.
White was recently sentenced for Attempted Delivery/Manufacture Methampethamine for her role in the transaction and received 23 months to 10 years. Lauscher was sentenced to 24 months to 10 years for Possession of Methamphetamine for his role in the transaction.
