State Rep. Greg Markkanen of Hancock will be hosting the chairman of the Transportation Committee, Rep. Jack O’Malley, in the Copper Country to tour damage from the 2018 Father’s Day Flood. The representatives will be meeting with road commissions from Houghton and Baraga counties to discuss funding options to repair the devastated areas.
The Houghton Road Commission will conduct site visits to Old Mill Hill, Coles Creek Road and Paradise Road on Nov. 2 from 10:30 to noon.
“I am honored to have Rep. O’Malley visit our district to help bring attention to damages yet to be repaired due to lack of funding.” Markkanen said. “I will continue to do everything in my power to secure funding for these projects.”
