The Healthy Youth Coalition of Marinette & Menominee Counties was recently awarded over $17,000 in proceeds from the 7th annual Hugh Bretl Drug Awareness Fundraiser to continue their prevention programming in the schools and community for our youth and their families.
The event was held on September 7th at the American Legion Post 146 as a Spaghetti and Chicken Dinner event along with many donated raffles. Special thanks to Mike Biehl with Applejack’s for donating all of the Chicken at the event and the Bretl Foundation for purchasing the Lasagna. Grand prizes of the raffle were sponsored by; Road King Excavating, Joy Wood Products, Lena Swamp Archery, UES Computers, West Shore Tool Service LLC, Gendrons Inc. of Coleman, and Drees Electric. Please visit our Facebook page for a complete list of sponsors from the event.
The Foundation has made over $90,000 in donations over the past seven years which has helped make it possible for the coalition to continue its prevention programming in the schools and community, and allows an opportunity for kids to be involved in a drug-free organization. The coalition would like to extend a special thank you to Mike and Dorothy Bretl and Jennifer Konyn, whose great work and dedication does not go unnoticed. HYC also thanks all those who donated to the event and who sold tickets to make this possible!
