The Carney-Nadeau, North Central, and Stephenson Schools will remain closed on Tuesday because of the lingering clean-up efforts after Sunday’s heavy snow.
This message from Carney-Nadeau Superintendent Adam Cocco Monday afternoon:
We have been in contact with the Menominee County Road Commission today, and it sounds like only 50% of the side roads will be cleared by tomorrow. With so many students unreachable by bus, we’re going to have to cancel school for Tuesday, December 3rd. I know there’s sunny skies out right now and the highways are fine but the sheer volume of snow we received just takes substantially more time than normal to clear. This isn’t a decision I make lightly and I very much want school to be back in session, but the state of the side roads leaves us with little choice.
