At exactly 11:59 pm, the 125 pound LED lit soccer shaped spectacle will make its 60- second descent from atop a retiring ladder truck from the City of Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department.
“Involving our soon to retire ladder truck in the ball ceremony commemorates and memorializes personnel and equipment from decades gone by,” noted Sault Ste. Marie Fire Chief, Scott Labonte. For families with young ones, an advanced ball drop has been coordinated under the farmer’s market pavilion, set to commence at 7pm. Gather early for music and party favors.
