Two people have been arrested after a high-speed chase late Tuesday night in Escanaba.
Escanaba Public Safety says it started at about 9:15 Tuesday night in the 2800 block of Third Avenue North.
The vehcile pursuit went through the City of Escanaba, Wells Township, and Ford River Township, before ending on 11th Road in Ford River Township.
The 26-year-old man who was driving was arrested and charged with felony fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, and driving on a suspended license. A passenger, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested on unrelated charges. Bond for the driver was set at $100,000.
No details were immediately available on what triggered the incident. No names were released. There were no injuries reported in the Escanaba Public Safety news release, which was issued at 2:30 Wednesday morning.
In the incident, Public Saefty was assisted by numerous other agencies, including the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, Menominee County Sheriff’s Department, Hannahville Tribal Police, the Delta County Central Dispatch Center, Rampart EMS, and Gene’s Towing.
