The American Red Cross of Michigan, through its Service to the Armed Forces Program, is offering a convenient and easy on-line opportunity for people who have family members leaving home for military service to better address the many challenges that may arise when someone they know deploys.
“Coping with Deployments – A Military Family Webinar” will introduce a variety of resources and programs available through the Red Cross that are designed to support military families who experience the normal stresses and strains that occur when their service member deploys.
The Red Cross worked closely with subject-matter experts from all service branches—along with National Guard and Reserve components— to complement what is in their courses for service members. Developed to support military families during the deployment cycle, this course
teaches participants how to identify and build upon natural psychological resilience.
Attendees learn to use psychological first aid to support themselves and others, locate resources and make referrals when needed.
