On 1/25/20, Escanaba Department of Public Safety responded to 4834 N. 16.5 Lane in Wells Township at 5:45 p.m. for report of smoke in a residence. All of the people were outside of the residence upon our arrival.
EPSD entered the front door and light smoke filled the residence. They went down into the basement and found where the fire had been burning but had alreday burned itself out before officers arrived. The residence sustained heavy smoke, fire, and some water damage. There were no injuries reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
