On 02-04-2020 at approximately 9:17 PM Deputies from the Iron County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of personal injury snowmobile accident on Trail 113 south of Superior Ave in the City of Crystal Falls. Preliminary investigation showed that the operator of the snowmobile was traveling North on Trial 113 and failed to negotiate a curve, striking a tree, and was thrown from his snowmobile. The driver, a 42-year-old Crystal Falls man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation and no other details are available at this time.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police Accident Investigator, Iron County Search and Rescue, Aspirus EMS, Nash Funeral Home, and Iron County Central Dispatch.

Update: The identity of the victim in the February 4th snowmobile crash is Crystal Falls resident 42- year-old Jason A. Clark of Crystal Falls. The crash remains under investigation.
