The Iron Mountain VA Medical Center will host its 4th Annual Veteran Creative Arts Competition March 6, 2020.
This annual event showcases and celebrates the unique talents and skills in visual and performing arts that Veterans use in their restorative, healing journey. The VA uses the creative arts as one form of rehabilitative treatment to help Veterans in the healing and recovery process.
Veterans enrolled in VA healthcare first compete in a local creative arts competition sponsored by the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center. Local submissions that place first will advance to the national competition. In the past two years Iron Mountain VA veterans won second place nationally in their respective categories. After the national competition, a festival brings all the winners together to allow them to gather and perform or show off their talents.
The entries will be on display after March 6 at the medical center in the second floor waiting area above the outpatient entrance.
