President Trump is declaring a national emergency to deal with the growing coronavirus crisis.
Speaking in the Rose Garden, Trump said the action will open the door to distribution of up to 50-billion dollars in additional federal aid to state and local governments. He vowed that no resource will be spared. There are about 17-hundred confirmed cases of coronavirus in America and the death toll has risen above three dozen. The number of confirmed cases is expected to climb much higher as more coronavirus test kits become available.
Trump said, “This will pass” and he stressed that the U.S. will emerge stronger. Trump cited tremendous progress in confronting the crisis, including getting more coronavirus test kits ready for distribution. He insisted that everyone will not need to be tested. Trump also noted that other countries are having much more trouble than the U.S. The NIH’s Dr. Anthony Fauci joined Trump and said — “We still have a long way to go; there will ultimately be many more cases…but this will end.”
