DCH has collected twenty specimens that have been sent to be tested for COVID-19.
DCH has received seven test results, all have been negative. Lab testing time has taken longer than expected due to the high volumes of COVID-19 tests that have been sent in for testing.
We will keep you updated as future test results are received.
A total of three positive cases have been reported in the Upper Peninsula, one each from Chippewa, Luce and Marquette Counties.
Please remember, to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 by implementing these simple practices:
o Wash your hands often – Scrub with soap and water for 20 seconds or rub your hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer for 15 seconds.
o Don’t touch your face – Especially avoid contact with your eyes, nose and mouth.
o Practice social distancing whenever possible – This means avoiding close contact with others.
o Stay home if you are sick.
o Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue – Dispose of the tissue immediately afterward. Use your shirt sleeve, not your hands, if no tissue is available.
