As of today, April 14, 2020 at 11:14a.m., Public Health Delta and Menominee Counties has issued the following
information:
• 169 individuals in the disease surveillance system
• 9 positives for COVID-19 including 1 death
• 2 probable cases for COVID-19
• 142 specimens were negative for COVID-19
• 16 results are pending
Additionally, given the continued expansion of COVID-19 testing capacity in Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is expanding the COVID-19 testing prioritization criteria to broaden th populations eligible for testing to include individuals with mild symptoms in certain circumstances.
Symptomatic individuals should contact their healthcare provider before presenting for testing to ensure testing supplies are available and appropriate preparations can be made to limit potential spread of illness.
A lot of information is circulating speculating when COVID-19 will peak in Michigan. This is based on models that do not translate well to smaller communities with very small numbers of cases. There is currently no estimated peak date or time-frame for COVID-19 in Delta County and we remind everyone to continue to do their part by staying home, staying safe, and saving lives.
Please note that these numbers can change at any time as test results are being processed continually. These numbers only reflect accurate information as to the date and time of this briefing.
