The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported on Wednesday afternoon that there were 262 new positive coronavirus cases in the state, and there were four new deaths in the state.
Michigan now has 64,132 confirmed positive cases and 5,951 COVID-19 deaths.
Michigan also tracks “probable” cases and deaths. Those are people who do not have a positive test result confirmed, but health officials believe their illnesses or deaths were related to COVID-19.
As of Wednesday, the state lists an additional 6,957 cases and 247 deaths in the “probable” category.
There were four new cases reported in the Upper Peninsula on Wednesday: one each in Marquette, Delta, Chippewa, and Alger Counties.
There have been 165 confirmed positive cases and 18 deaths linked to COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula.
There have also been eight “probable” cases listed in the Upper Peninsula.
The Chippewa County Health Department on Wednesday added another place that it’s investigating as a possible COVID-19 exposure site. That is Lynn Auto Parts in Kinross. Anyone who went there in the past ten days should monitor themselves for any symptoms.
The state now lists 51,099 people as having “recovered”. This means that they are still alive at least 30 days after having a positive test confirmed, or being diagnosed with COVID-19. That was last updated on Saturday, June 27.
As of Wednesday, the state completed 1,241,900 tests, including 162,911 tests for antibodies and 1,078,989 diagnostic tests.
