The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 734 new coronavirus cases on Friday, and eight new deaths.
Michigan now has 81,621 positive test results since the crisis began more than four months ago, and 6,199 total deaths.
The Upper Peninsula had 18 new cases on Friday, according to the MDHHS.
Six of them were in Delta County, and five new cases were reported in Marquette County. There were also four new cases in Gogebic County, two more in Alger County, and one new case in Chippewa County.
There were no new deaths reported in the Upper Peninsula on Friday, and there’s been one total death reported in the months of June and July in the region.
The U.P. has seen 496 total confirmed cases since early March.
The state also reports 60 “probable” cases for the Upper Peninsula.
As of Friday, Michigan has completed 2,083,079 tests. Of those, 1,868,156 tests are diagnostic tests, and 214,923 tests were for antibodies.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, a total of 35,790 diagnostic tests have been completed as of Friday. The percent positive rate for the U.P. is less than one percent.
