The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 891 new coronavirus cases on Thursday and eight new deaths.
State officials also went through death certificates and matched them to previous positive test results. They added eleven more deaths to the total.
Michigan now has 125,578 positive test results since the crisis began back in March, and 6,781 deaths.
The Upper Peninsula added 95 new positive tests Thursday, accoring to the MDHHS. Eighteen of those were in Delta County, 17 in Houghton County, and 15 in Menominee County.
The U.P. now has 2,524 total cases since the crisis began in March. There have been 35 deaths reported in the U.P. during the pandemic.
The U.P.’s ten hospitals, as of Thursday, were caring for a combined 34 COVID patients, and there were ten other patients in intensive care units, for a total of 44. See the list below for specific hospital information.
The state also has 13,434 “probable cases” and 321 “probable deaths” that are not confirmed by a positive test result, but COVID-19 is believed to be the cause.
The U.P. also has 373 probable cases and one probable death.
The state says that 95, 051 people have recovered from the virus. This is defined as being alive 30 days after the positive test or diagnosis. This will be updated again next Saturday.
