The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Saturday reported 1,158 new positive test results and two new deaths.
State officials also went through death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added 11 more deaths to the state’s total using that method.
Michigan now has 127,516 positive test results since the crisis began back in March, and 6,801 deaths. The state also has 13,755 “probable cases” and 323 “probable deaths” that are not confirmed by a positive test result, but COVID-19 is believed to be the cause.
The state on Saturday said that 99, 521 people have recovered from the virus. This is defined as being alive 30 days after the positive test or diagnosis. That is an increase of more than 4,200 recoveries since last week.
The Upper Peninsula added 112 new positive tests Saturday, accoring to the MDHHS. The most were in Delta County (33) and Dickinson County (28).
The U.P. now has 2,721 total cases since the crisis began in March. There have been 39 deaths reported in the U.P. during the pandemic.
The U.P.’s ten hospitals, as of Thursday, were caring for a combined 34 COVID patients, and there were ten other patients in intensive care units, for a total of 44. See the list below for specific hospital information.
The U.P. also has had 419 probable cases and one probable death.
