The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday reported 1,359 new positive test results and 13 new deaths.
Michigan now has 139,601 positive test results since the crisis began back in March, and 6,941 deaths.
The Upper Peninsula added 99 more cases on Wednesday and two more deaths. The most new positive tests were in Delta County, with 38 new cases. The deaths were reported in Baraga and Iron Counties.
The U.P. now has 3,645 total cases since the crisis began in March. There have been 60 deaths reported in the U.P. during the pandemic.
The state also has 15,394 “probable cases” and 327 “probable deaths” that are not confirmed by a positive test result, but COVID-19 is believed to be the cause.
The U.P. has had 582 probable cases and one probable death.
The U.P.’s ten hospitals, as of Monday, were caring for a combined 33 COVID patients, with 15 of them at U.P. Health System hospitals. There were 12 other patients in U.P. intensive care units, for a total of 45.

The state says that 104, 271 people have recovered from the virus. This is defined as being alive 30 days after the positive test or diagnosis. That is an increase of nearly 5,000 recoveries in the past week.
