…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EST /4 AM CST/WEDNESDAY…
A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected this afternoon into tonight. Widespread ice accumulations between 0.10 and 0.15 inches is expected and could be as high as a 0.25 inches locally. Greatest ice accumulations are expected along US-41 and M-28 between Humboldt and Ironwood and along US-2 in Gogebic County. Total snow accumulations up to three inches is possible with the greatest snow accumulations expected in the far western portions of Gogebic and Ontonagon Counties and the Copper Country.
Untreated surfaces, including roads, overpasses, sidewalks and parking lots will be slippery. These hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. Power outages can`t be ruled out. Ice accumulations will be confined mainly to the western half of Upper Michigan. Across Marquette County, ice accumulation greater than 0.05 inches is not expected east of Humboldt.
