Two homes and a garage were damaged by fire early Monday morning near Newberry.
Michigan State Police from Sault Ste. Marie say the call came in at just past midning in Luce County’es Lakefield Township, and when troopers arrived, they saw the homes and attached garage engulfed in flames.
The people who live there were already outside waiting for emergency crews, and there were no injuries. The homeowner told troopers the fire started with a wood stove being left unattended in the garage, and the fire spread.
The Newberry and Columbus Township Fire Departments put out the blaze Monday morning.
