The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Saturday reported 8,080 new positive test results and 33 new deaths.
State officials also went through death certificates and matched them to previous positive test results. They added 70 more deaths to the total.
Michigan now has 350,021 confirmed cases since the crisis began in March. The state also has recorded 9,036 deaths during that time.
MDHHS reports that 13,002 have been listed as “recovered” in the last week alone. The total recoveries now stands at 165,269. This is defined as being alive 30 days after the positive test or diagnosis.
The state also has 28,131 “probable cases” and 431 “probable deaths” that are not confirmed by a positive test result, but COVID-19 is believed to be the cause.
The Upper Peninsula added 159 new cases on Saturday, and new deaths were reported in Baraga, Dickinson, Marquette, and Menominee Counties.
The U.P. now has 11,736 confirmed positive test results, and 222 confirmed COVID-19 deaths since the crisis began in March.
The U.P. has had a total of 2,054 probable cases and 39 probable deaths.
Some local health departments reported different totals, as reporting cutoff times are different than the state report.
