Escanaba Public Library announces its winter reading promotion for adults and teens, “Winter Reading Bingo” beginning on February 22 through March 26, 2021.
Readers will have a chance to win one of five weekly prizes of a basket with an assortment of cozy, warming items or one grand prize for a Kindle Fire tablet drawn on March 29. Readers will be required to complete a bingo vertically, horizontally, or diagonally to earn a raffle ticket and a chance to win prizes.
Patrons can complete as many bingos as they like by recording their reading on the corresponding bingo square.
“With our bingo format this year we are hoping to encourage our readers to expand their reading horizons and read something they might not have considered before by selecting a bingo square and following the reading direction,” said Adult Services Librarian, Monique Ciofu. “Maybe they would like to try a book written by an author from another country, or a local U.P. author, or even a cookbook.”
For those who need suggestions for what to read next, library staffers are always happy to recommend a good book or refer patrons to online resources for recommendations. Any format book including e-books, audiobooks, large print or a CD book can be used. Bingo forms are available at the circulation desk during open hours, through the drive-up window or by visiting the library’s website at escanabalibrary.org and printing a copy from the web.
The program is made possible with the generous support of the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library. The Escanaba Public Library is located at 400 Ludington Street in downtown Escanaba.
