Governor Gretchen Whitmer is once again appointing a man to the Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees that the Michigan Senate has already rejected once. Whitmer on Thursday appointed Jason Morgan, the chairman of the Washtenaw County Board in Ann Arbor, to the board that runs N-M-U.
Whitmer first appointed him on December 28th, but the Senate rejected him, along with other appointees, on February 3rd. He is a 20-11 N-M-U graduate.
Whitmer is also appointing Andrea Dickson of Grosse Pointe to the Michigan Tech University Board of Control. The Senate has already rejected Dickson’s appointment once…at the same time they blocked Morgan from the N-M-U Board.
And the governor is trying to get Thomas Baird on to the Michigan Natural Resources Commission. The Democratic consultant from Elk Rapids was also turned down by Michigan Senate Republicans in February.
