Firefighters were called to the Bay College campus on Thursday after fire broke out in the welding building.
Escanaba Public Safety says the call came in at around 4:00. There were 18 students and two instructors in the building and they were all evacuated safely. Officers say one of the welding stations caught fire, and by the time they got there, the bulding’s sprinkler system had already come on.
There was smoke and water damage to the building. No one was injured.
