The body of a missing driver in Iron County was found by dive teams Tuesday afternoon.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Department says the body of 21-year-old Joshua Davis of Crystal Falls was pulled from the Net River by a Michigan State Police Dive Team at about 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. The accident, which happened on Sunday, is still under investigation, but deputies do say that alcohol was a contributing factor.
Davis’s car was found submerged in the river Sunday, and an initital search for his body on Monday came up empty.
ORIGINAL STORY
On 08/15/2021 Deputies from the Iron County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle submerged in the Net River near Amasa.
The caller advised that the vehicle was located near the Snake River Rapids boat launch. The vehicle was removed from the river but the owner could not be located. Deputies, members of the Iron County Search and Rescue, and the MI DNR searched the area including cabins but were unable to make contact with the driver.
Deputies with the assistance of the MI DNR and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Drone division continued the search on 08/16 but have not located the driver at the time of this release. No names are being released more information will be released as it becomes available.
