The plans to build a 80-90 room hotel in downtown Escanaba, along with other retail space, are dead.
Proxima Management had announced the $18.3 million project to use the old Delta County Jail site on August 21, 2019. But the plans have gone nowhere. The City of Escanaba announced on Friday that it was sending a 60-day notice to terminate the agreement, saying that they have not heard from the developers in months. The city will look for others interested in that property.
